It’s (Finally) That Time of Year Again: Cincy ComiCon Hits the Northern Kentucky Convention Center
Grab your capes and jumpsuits, people. Yep, it’s time for Cincy ComiCon 2016, and I am so. Freaking. Pumped.
For those who don’t know, Cincy ComicCon is basically the smaller, cheaper cousin of San Diego’s massive geek-fest. It’s also the smaller, cheaper cousin of the Cincinnati Comic Expo, which has been around since 2010. However, Cincy ComiCon’s initial run last year was successful enough to warrant another go.
According to the site, the event was created “to present Greater Cincinnati with the very best that comic books, comic art, and related pop culture have to offer.” Based on the guest list this year, it sounds like the Con will deliver: Sarah Dyer (Action Girl), Nick Bradshaw (Rokkin, Wolverine and the X-Men), Reverend Dave Johnson (cover artist for Vertigo and Batman, among others), Annie Wu (Black Canary), and so many more are attending. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to get some signatures. And, of course, to see some mind-blowing cosplays. Speaking of, I’m genuinely curious to see how manySuicide Squad (movie version) Harley Quinns will be there. Just saying.
Now for the technical stuff. This year’s shindig (which runs from September 9-11, so mark your calendars) will be held at the Northern Kentucky Convention center located in Covington. Tickets range from $25 – $75, depending on whether you plan to stop in one afternoon or spend the whole weekend there. Either way, it’s sure to be a kick-ass time.
